Hospitality

True to the spirit of the age old ‘Atithi Devo Bhava’, we at NIT DGP realise how important hospitality in an occasion like ‘Aarohan’ is. As ‘Aarohan’ has grown by leaps and bounds over the years, the participation it attracts has exponentially increased. Although managing so many different aspects of a national level college festival of this magnitude puts numerous constraints upon us as organisers, we forever endeavour towards the satisfaction of all our guests. Along with providing satisfactory accommodation within the college campus, we shall also provide you with mouth-watering eateries that will make you want to return to ‘Aarohan’ year after year. We hope to make sure that your stay here is comfortable and enjoyable.
Hope to see you in this ultimate celebration of technology!

How to reach NIT Durgapur?

In case of unavailability of direct trains to Durgapur, one can easily take a train to Howrah or Asansol and then reach Durgapur by trains or buses. Express and mail trains and couple of intercity express trains ply between Kolkata and Durgapur on a regular basis. Buses from West Bengal state transport corporation as well as , ac or Volvo buses can be availed to travel from Kolkata to Durgapur and vice versa. The travel is extremely comfortable in both modes.

Nearest airport is at Dumdum, Netaji Subhash International airport.

Within the city of Durgapur, bus, auto-rickshaws and cycle-rickshaws are the most common modes of transport.

NIT DGP is situated about 8 kms from the Durgapur railway station. Regular buses ply from the station direct to NIT. Taxis and auto rickshaws may be availed too.

Fares are generally as follows:
Buses: Rs 6 to 7
Taxis: Rs 130
Auto rickshaws: Rs 90

In case you reach Durgapur by changing a train or bus from Kolkata or some other nearby district, the main bus stand of Durgapur lies just 1 km away from NIT, in City Centre, the shopping hub of the city.

Again buses, rickshaws, and auto-rickshaws may be availed to reach NIT from the bus stand.

The transport network of the city is quite efficient, convenient as well as comfortable.

Aarohan teams from NIT durgapur will be present in all nearbying railway stations like Durgapur, Asansol, etc to receive the participants and to ensure their comfortable and convenient journey to the NIT campus during Aarohan 2010.
