A North American, in the 1840's, played for Canada in their 1st three matches in 1844-45 then, after relocating to Detriot, turned out for the USA in 1846. He was a solid batsman and a round-arm bowler. In the 1st USA-Canada match he was the top scorer in the first as well as 2nd innings.

The members of this group were all associated with popular groups prior to its formation. As a result of the bitterness incurred in their former groups they decided to adopt a name that would have equal weightage of every member in it - so if one member left it at any stage, the band would just continue without his part of the name. Starting with three, they went on to become a 4-member band. This group also had a particularly strong political stance, composing anti-war songs and condemning state atrocities.
