CAD-VENTURE
"Architecture aims at Eternity."
This event is here to serve the Royal Mechies . It is a proper blend of common-sense, aptitude and creativity in the right proportions.
Requires technical skills regarding re-assembling of dismantled machine parts as well as the aptitude to re-design or modify an existing design. So gear up for your very own adventure and recreate the moment to live your mechanical dream.
A particular model will be given to the participating teams for preparing in the CAD software CATIA developed Dassault Systems.
The model need to be developed as an assembly in the ‘Assembly design Module’ of CATIA which will constitute of various parts which should be developed individually in the ‘Part Designing Module’ of Catia.
The problem statement will contain most of the specifications required for developing the complete model.
Other particulars may need to be calculated out for which the required mathematical formulae along with relative data will be provided in the problem statement itself.
There will be another section regarding simulation of the model and successful compilation of the Simulation will help the teams score extra points and gain an edge over others.
At most three Members can constitute a team. Students from different educational institutes or organisations can form a team.
The teams will be provided with a computer with CATIA V5 R19/20 software installed in it.
They will be provided with a booklet which will contain the problem statement and the relevant data/information regarding the competition.
Participants are requested to bring their own Scientific Calculators as some equations involving rigorous computation may require to be solved.
The teams will be allotted 3 hours for the whole assemble of the model and its subsequent simulation.
The teams which complete the model before time will be awarded bonus points.
- Primarily, all the individual part's design will be checked and will be given points as per the accuracy of the dimensions.
- Then the assembly will be checked for adequacy of the applied constraints and their correctness.
- Finally, the compilation of the Simulation will be checked and awarded extra points.
- In case of a tie the assembly and simulation will be considered and checked for some other specifications and a unambiguous decision will be taken.
